Tap Choreography Intensive

Train with Dianne Montgomery in her brand new Tap workshop!

Challenging yourself to work on rhythmically complex material in a workshop-style setting across six weeks. Experience the choreographic process and learn what its like to develop choreography on a professional level. This workshop will look at a piece which Dianne will debut in the Toronto International Tap Festival in 2019. This course is suitable for advanced dancers.

Workshop $150 + HST

Dianne Montgomery is a dancer, choreographer and educator. In 2017 she sold out her full-length live collaborative show with Ron Davis' Symphronica and was one of four Canadian choreographers commissioned by Toffan Rhythm Projects and Harborfrount Centre to present at the first Toronto International Tap Dance Festival, a project for which she also wrote the music. Her other choreographic credits include work for Fall For Dance NorthRhythm&Sound, Eastern Canadian Tap Conference, the Rhythm EnsembleToronto PRIDE, the Toronto Rhythm Initiative, Ottawa Rhythm Initiative and Montreal Tap Dance Festival. Dianne's previous work includes world touring with FEIST, appearances on Saturday Night LiveThe Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brien and performances across North America and Europe, notably Massey HallRoyal Albert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. She has produced workshops for Savion Glover (Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da FunkShuffle Along, Tony award winner and nominee), Joseph and Josette Wiggan (Cirque’s Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour) and Ali Bradley (STOMPTapology) among others. She has contributed to television, film, music and live theatre work: was featured on Sook-Yin Lee’s Definitely Not the Opera, and appeared in the FEIST documentary Look at What the Light Did Now. She contributed vocals to the opening sequence of the Paul Gross feature film Gunless and to the Travis Good-Gordon Pinsent-Greg Keelor album Down and Out in Upalong. She worked with one of the principals of Warehouse 13 to prepare for the season finale, she opened the “!f Istanbul Independent Film Festival” in Istanbul, Turkey with a shadow work and choreographed and art directed for the Donna Grantis (Prince) Electric Band’s video “Gold Dust Reprise”.
